BlacksKin Studio

Blackskin Studio was officially established in 2018 by a group of young people gathered in the musical desert of Taiwan, Taoyuan. They are determined to create something that has never been done before, bringing unique music to Taiwan.

"Blackskin" is a phonetic play on the English word "happy," reflecting the desire to allow listeners to feel the joy of the music we create and to experience happiness while immersing themselves in it.

As the founder of MarVelMan, I am responsible for managing the studio’s vision and growth strategy, overseeing P&L, brand development, and strategic partnerships. I lead a team of over 14 people, including video directors, producers, and artists.

We collaborate with politicians, various industries, influencers, streetwear brands, and international artists to release singles and merchandise. During this time, we have overseen and participated in the production of over 70 projects, including 2 physical albums, 1 digital album, 1 Mixtape, and more than 60 singles, as well as an NFT project. We also organized the first hip-hop party in Taoyuan, Taiwan. Songs from Blackskin have performed well on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.

Our company has developed 7 hip-hop artists and implemented A&R strategies for them. I use data from Social Blade, YouTube, and social media backend insights to conduct market analysis and competitor analysis to optimize engagement, and then create corresponding marketing plans.

Special Project - “Happy Fool’s Health Care”

“Happy Fool’s Health Care” is the physical album released by BlacksKin artist Big Mac in 2020. It uses humorous melodies and lyrics to describe the frustrations experienced during growth. MarVelMan was involved in music production, lyric writing, video editing, and marketing planning for the album, including budget planning. Pre-ordering was used to reduce costs and increase the album's rarity to attract consumers. Additionally, we collaborated with a clothing retailer in Taichung to launch merchandise related to the album.

Released music videos and merchandise to enhance brand and artist recognition, as well as to increase album sales.

Special Project - “2 Hard 2 Handle”

“2 Hard 2 Handle” is the digital EP released by the studio HandyLee and SoloMan in 2020. MarVelMan oversaw the production and mixing, and collaborated with an illustrator on the mixtape cover. Additionally, I assisted the artists in creating promotional content for the mixtape.

BK homies NFT:

The NFT created by the studio's partners in 2022 utilized street culture and cute designs to attract consumers. My involvement included marketing and reaching out to influencers for promotion, and together with my partners, we managed to surpass 200K followers on Instagram within one week.

Special Project - “Kidnapping Plan

Launched the "Kidnapping Plan" inviting well-known Taiwanese rappers to participate, using a humorous approach to promote the album and upcoming events. This was also promoted on social media, not only increasing the rappers' visibility but also enhancing brand awareness and attracting fans from both sides.

BK Live Session:

During the time when Live Session were not widespread, organized brand members to shoot live session video, which garnered 3K review in the single day on the artists Instagram. The purpose of this project was to increase brand awareness and enhanced visibility of the artist under the brand.

We organized Taiwan Taoyuan's first hip-hop party and participated in the songwriting and mixing of the "Oasis Party" theme song. I developed the marketing and promotional plan, and worked with the team to shoot multiple teaser videos to promote the "Oasis Party." We launched exclusive Oasis-themed stickers and held a Facebook Live event for a raffle to win BlacksKin limited hats and party tickets. We collaborated with the local government and the well-known dance group TC to host the party, inviting online artists to perform. The content reached approximately 200,000 people on Facebook, and over 1,000 tickets were sold for both presales and on-site.
